In 2008 George Romero came to Dallas with some of the cast of the original Night Of The Living Dead for Texas Frightmare. We honored his legacy by staggering thru the streets in an epic zombie crawl that helped launch the festival.
I bought all my prosthetics at Costume World on Inwood and spent weeks planning my look. The teeth were such a crunchy bit of bloody kismet
The taxidermy crow was a last minute impulse that brought the whole look together. I am so proud oglf how he looks feeding off of my exposed & oozing prefrontal cortex. I also brought a severed hand to gnaw on.
My favorite memory was passing a car lol and of girls as we staggered en masse thru the parking lot adjacent to the mall which was next to the hotel where the event was happening. Imagine being at the mall on a regular day only to drive past a hoard of snarling dusty zombies warbling about BRAINS. They laughed at us. But dear reader believe me when I tell you that karma was quick that beautiful day. Because as we passed their car they kept looking in the direction from whence we had just come....so we snuck back behind their car and ran up screaming and pressing our bloodied faces and hands all over the windows. I still hear their terrified screams and smile with wicked delight.
