Madinat Zayed

Before I left Abu Dhabi I got out of the city and took the bus to the Al Dhafra region Madinat Zayed.

The bus ride took about 3 hours which gave me time and peace to relax. I loved everyone I met in UAE. So many good souls and I learned a lot while I was there. My favorite experiences were the ones that put me closest to Emirati culture.

I also had an awesome responsibility to a 7 yr old in Florida who had sent me her Flat Stanley so he made the most of this adventure.

He even made an angel in the sand and got a juicy kiss from an attentive camel.

The camels speak to a part of my soul that no human has ever been able to reach. They are so gentle, majestic & thoughtful. To touch a camel is a blessing. And on this day I was blessed by countless camels who were just as curious about me as I was intrigued by them.
I spent some time at a camel farm and this beautiful lady came up to me and watching her face I was mesmerized  felt like she could almost taste me
Tom Robbins urged us to be more like camels by eschewing focus on external and instead perfecting our inner resources saying it's our "hump" - that aspect of our being that society finds eccentric, ridiculous,or disagreeable - that holds our sweet waters, our secret well of happiness, the key to equanimity in malevolent climes
