Learning the hard way

I have given up trying to find an art teacher who can help my hands bring to life the images floating in my head. After seeing my pancake batter my first teacher said "if you are want to keep doing shit like this you will need the basics"



The second teacher didn't talk to me at all, just grabbed the charcoal out of my hand and did what she wanted to do forcing me to stand back and watch. It is hard to learn when the teacher is doing the work instead of letting you do it. So I am taking the hard route and trying to teach myself by copying photos of people with sharp features like Man Ray.
